Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salim Şentürk was born in 1982 in Trabzon. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Karadeniz Technical University in 2005.
From 2007 to 2013, he completed his residency in Neurosurgery at Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. He also completed a four-year course by the European Association of Neurosurgeons. He fulfilled his mandatory service at Çorum Training and Research Hospital between 2013 and 2014. From 2014 to 2018, he worked as a Neurosurgeon at Koç University Hospital. In 2018-2019, he participated in observational training at the Spine Center of the University of California, San Francisco (USA), and in 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital (USA). Dr. Salim Şentürk worked at Memorial Health Group from July 2019 to September 2024. Since September 2024, he has continued working in his private practice.
He served as the editor of the first book in Turkey on endoscopic spine surgery, prepared in Turkish and English, with contributions from experienced surgeons from Turkey and around the world. Şentürk also served as the editor of a set of explanatory question books for preparation for the TND proficiency and EBNC exams (6 books: Neuroanatomy, Neuro-oncology, Neurovascular, Spinal, Pediatrics, Functional).
Many of his surgical techniques related to spine surgery and endoscopic surgery have been published in international journals. He has made significant contributions to the development of endoscopic surgery with new surgical techniques. He has organized numerous live surgical trainings both domestically and internationally on endoscopic spine surgery and scoliosis surgery. He has participated in many national and international meetings and courses, and has also organized numerous national and international meetings and courses.
